Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment
SAAT(Soliman’s Auricular Allergy Treatment) is an auricular acupuncture technique that can treat a variety of allergic conditions related to a multitude of allergens including food, the environment, and medication. Research has shown the efficacy of the SAAT technique for eliminating reactions to various allergens, including Alpha-gal. It has been shown to be effective in reducing Mast Cell Activation Syndrome(MCAS) reactions. After the treatment, many patients tolerate exposure to the allergens that they had reacted to in the past, frequently being non-reactive for many years.
The technique was developed by Nadir Soliman, MD, who after many years of study, discovered an area of the ear that when stimulated, is highly effective in treating allergies, and named it the Soliman Allergy Zone(SAZ). Needles are placed in this zone and retained for 3-4 weeks to complete the treatment and reset the body so that it does not react to the specific allergen that was identified. The treatment is relatively painless and often more than one allergen can be treated within a session.
Many patients are able to reintroduce foods that they have not been able to eat or to which they previously had reactions. It is never recommended that a patient who has anaphylaxis knowingly add that food back into their system. Environmental allergens likely will have a different method of reintroduction, as many are not controllable, or may not be reintroduced at all(i.e. - dust mites, pollen).
